Pensar un cine en transformación: la lección de André Bazin
Abstract
The article proposes a rereading of the work of the French critic and theorist André Bazin (1918-1958) with the light of the international revaluation of his contribution produced during the last decade and the recent comprehensive publication of his writings. The contour that arises from a contemporary reading of the Bazinian developments challenges the canonical version of his contribution, coined half a century ago, proposing him as an anthropologist and philosopher of images, specially oriented to conceptualize cinema as an open and constantly changing medium, interacting with other practices of gaze, images and screens.
