Abstract

This is the third academic journal edited by Palermo University with the aim to promote, visibilize and foster the local academic production of Game Studies. The journal is produced once again with the support of the Institute of Research and Experimentation in Art and Criticism (IIEAC) of the National University of the Arts (UNA). The present edition gathers papers that touches on a variety of subjects such as gamification, gender, new technologies, childhood and ethics, among others. These topics could be organized around two main processes: concentration and diversification. The first one compiles the works that focuses on current concepts and discussions intrinsic to the game studies, while the second refers to papers that broaden the field bringing new perspectives into the conversation. The two processes are a clear reflection of the effervescence and changes that the local game studies are currently going through.
