Abstract

Research Project 17.2 presents the universality of the concept of Personal Image, approached from different angles and in a multicultural way, from three different approaches: the Image as communication, the image as a universal concept and the image as a factor of impact and transformation. The Image is an element of communication that cannot be denied, ignored, rejected or made invisible. The Image is timeless, it transcends us, it is not exclusively visual, but all the elements that go through a person intervene: self-esteem, emotions, the intonation of the voice, their feeling, the way of relating, their trajectory, the memory that it invokes. It can be said that the Image is a mental representation that manifests itself in different ways and in different senses since it sometimes lacks form. Animate and inanimate, tangible or intangible, living or non-living, visual or invisible, the Image is present as an element of communication, an integral concept that not only encompasses the external and the visual but also the internal and the institutions in which we interact.
