Abstract
The idea of space runs through the inhabitants of a certain environment daily, defining the identity, personality, and actions of individuals in that environment. The interpretation of that geographical space then becomes a statement of property, power, and other socio-economic interactions, which are lived day by day without being aware of it. This article arises from the project “Percepciones de un espacio en otro tiempo. Vichada, una cartografía de la experiencia inminente”, in which the observation of the relationships between the inhabitants and a territory alien to the current accelerated changes gives rise to understand the influence of the current spatial representations, which emerge underground homogenizing the behavior of individuals in exchange for supposed services.
