Abstract

Research Project 10.3 addresses, from different disciplines, the way in which images in photography, painting, art, advertising, among others, connect ideas to impact the world. The image is challenged as creator of meaning and approaches are proposed that allow an aesthetic, sociological and semiotic approach to the reading of visual representations. It is oriented to the recognition of the role that images have operated and continue to operate, in shaping social perceptions related to society, identity and social conflict. In this way, theoretical and methodological elements are investigated and provided that facilitate the understanding of the social and cultural aspects involved in the processes and products of aesthetic practice.
