Entre dunas. Un viaje transpositivo del relato novela al relato juego de mesa
Abstract
The premiere of the film Dune (2021) directed by D. Villeneuve revived a series of new disquisitions about that fictional universe expressed in multiple languages and social practices. This article aims to analyze one of those expressions, that of the board game Dune A game of conquest, diplomacy and betrayal (2019 [1979]) The focus will be on the transpositive modes of the novel to the game, observable in the operation of the game system, the design of the gameplay and the rules, all according to the characterizations that are developed in the literary story. The current situation of the transpositive operations will be taken into account and how in this particular process, also influenced by a “period style”, a passage from the narrative forms of the literary genre to the predominantly descriptive forms of the strategy and war conflict board game genre is elaborated.
