Conexión social en adultos argentinos: Estudio descriptivo según variables sociodemográficas

Resumen

La conexión social refiere al vínculo que las personas sienten en relación con los individuos y grupos sociales que las rodean. Este sentimiento se construye a partir de las experiencias relacionales y proporciona un sentido de identidad y de lugar en la sociedad. Diversas variables sociodemográficas condicionan el círculo social de las personas y la manera en que se viven esos vínculos. El objetivo de este trabajo fue describir la conexión social en adultos argentinos según el género, el estado civil, el nivel educativo y la ocupación. La muestra estuvo constituida por 399 personas (56.6% mujeres, 41.9% hombres, 1.5% otro) de entre 18 y 79 años (M = 39.46, DE = 12.09) quienes respondieron la Escala de Conexión Social (Lee et al., 2001). El método de muestreo fue no probabilístico autoelegido. Se realizaron pruebas de diferencias entre medias mediante prueba t para muestras independientes y ANOVA. Se encontraron diferencias significativas de acuerdo con el estado civil (F = 4.02, < .05) —los solteros presentaron menores puntajes que las personas que están en pareja—; según nivel educativo (F = 8.33, p < .001) —las diferencias se manifiestaron entre personas con estudios universitarios y quienes tienen nivel secundario—; según ocupación (F = 5.04, p < .001) —las personas desocupadas y los estudiantes presentaron puntajes significativamente menores que los dueños de empresas y profesionales—. A partir de estos hallazgos, se discuten nuevas líneas de investigación.
