Abstract

Research Project 10.4 addresses and argues how contemporary visuality currently manifests an enormous impact on the sensible and intelligible and, for this reason, asks to assume it as a theoretical object. An interrogation is approached about the condition of possibility of the image to make visible, and its counterpart to hide, as the intermediate instances found. It delves into the question of how far it is possible to show the real and, in addition, how to show it. The image is studied as a temporary unit containing the story of its creation, from its elaboration to the duration of its materialization, as a symptom of time, in itself and through the act of looking and the effects of contemplation. It reflects on what is seen and what is not seen, the visible and the invisible, the denial of the image, the non-image, in the relationship that interprets it as a social historical phenomenon, the strategies that contribute to the mutability of the image understood as a device that affects poetry, practice and education.
