Book Review: Urban Inequalities: A Multidimensional and International Perspective
Abstract
In this book, Dr. Graciela Tonon edits a collection of theoretical and empirical experiences that allow us to approach the complex study of urban inequalities in a multidimensional and multiscalar way, and to understand how these affect the quality of life and well-being of the population. In this compendium of authors from four continents, not only are diverse realities described and presented, but also methodologies based on innovative approaches. A section of the book is devoted to complex strategies and proposals that go beyond diagnosis and seek to provide responses to the inequalities under study. Overall, the volume discusses inequalities related to climate change, poverty, inequalities affecting children and adolescents, ethnicity, race, housing, education, health, services, as well as the role of the State and the market, among other dimensions.
