Graciela Tonon

Dr. in Political Science, Master’s degree in Political Science, and Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. She completed postdoctoral studies in Qualitative Methods at the University of Florence, Italy

Director of the Research Centre in Social Sciences. and of the Journal of Social Sciences at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Palermo, as well as a professor at both undergraduate and graduate levels. She holds Category 1 in Argentina’s National Incentive Program for Teaching and Research Faculty.

She is Editor of the International Handbooks of Quality of Life Series at Springer–ISQOLS and Associate Editor of Applied Research in Quality of Life. She is Co–Vice President for Academic Affairs of ISQOLS (International Society for Quality-of-Life Studies). She is a Fellow and Co-Coordinator of Thematic Groups at the HDCA (Human Development and Capability Association, founded by Nobel Laureate Amartya Sen).

She has published extensively in English and Spanish in the fields of quality of life, well-being, research methodology, public policies, childhood and youth, community studies, higher education, and Social Work.

In 2025, she received the Pioneer Recognition Tribute awarded by the International Society for Quality-of-Life Studies for her profound vision and dedication to the development of quality-of-life studies.

Professionally, she has worked for 25 years as a social worker assisting at-risk and abused children in educational, health, and judicial settings in the Province of Buenos Aires.
